The Listening Centre (TLC) is a counselling service for Blackbird Leys and Oxford. It is a registered charity (No. 1098571) and aims to provide a low-cost service for local people. It is staffed by volunteers who are either qualified or in training. All have supervision and the service is professional and confidential. We are happy to respond to any enquiries you may have about the service. We do have a waiting list for clients, as our present resources do not allow us to offer immediate appointments. of The Listening Centre
As we approach our 20th anniversary, Friends is being relaunched to expand our network of supporters. In return for their interest, supporters will receive a regular newsletter, and invitations to social events. Additionally, anyone who is a Friend can opt to help in a number of ways, either by fundraising, providing training events, helping with publicity, or doing occasional ‘babysitting’ (i.e. being in an adjacent room when individual counsellors are away so that there are two people in the building for a session time). None of these are requirements to be a Friend – we welcome solely financial support as well! Friends are welcome to join the training events at a reduced fee.
